Village transformation toward a new world icon: tourism and digital village

Villages in Indonesia have the creative potential to become “world community” villages through the exposure of their nature, people, culture and local traditions to a global audience. Baliwood Land, developed in 2018, explores thematic film village tourism (an eco-friendly film adventure park) and creative screen content industry (platform films) based on local village nature and culture combined with digital innovation, a creative community, and global connections. The initiative is still in its infancy yet there is a promising future for a global brand and world icon status. R. Arvin I. Miracelova is founder of Baliwood Land Development and CEO of Miracelova Screen Institute, a filmmaker (www.gonationbuilding.net). He won the first British Council - Nokia Awards in the “screen’ category.
